interview example
While at Accenture, I joined a design focused group within the company. In order to benchmark my skills, I was given a day to improve the experience of a mobile map application, like Google Maps or Waze, for people driving and exploring a new place. Since I live in Chicago and am an avid transit rider, I decided to dive into that experience as well as the required driving prompt.
the prompt
You were hired as a UX designer by a company making a new mobile maps app. Competitors are Google Maps, Waze, and Apple Maps. They would like you to sketch out general concepts/wireframes for the app.
the deliverables
Three wireframes showing
- The homepage
- Searching for a new location
- Real time driving directions
After I completed my wireframes, I met with a member of the team to give them a detailed run through of what I had worked on, including…
- Background research (which included a user interview with my helpful boyfriend, Dom)
- My thought process and reasoning for different features that I wanted to include or leave out
- Different user scenarios like day to day use or exploring a new place
- The wireframes that I created.
Please browse this Figma to see my thought process, ideas, and wireframes that I created!
